Chateau d'Azay le Rideau

The Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau is a luxurious French-style castle residence built between 1518 and 1527. Built on an island on the Indre River in the town of Azay-le-Rideau, its location provides picturesque views of the scenic landscape in the French countryside. The chateau was heavily influenced by Italian Renaissance architecture with prominent features such as its triumphal arch entryway, elaborate spiraling staircases, and ornate interior decorations. Its parks and garden were designed later in the 19th century and reflect the English landscape style.
