Description

This building served as the round house and engine repair shop for the CPR until 1939. Following the move of the CPR operations to Smiths Falls, the building was purchased by the Canadian Cooperative Woolgrowers in 1940, and the scrap iron from the tracks and turntable was sold for the war effort.  The CCWG grades and markets approximately 3 million pounds of raw wool from this site each year. Also on site are several retail shops and a CPR railway museum.
