Girls are wearing dresses, mainly plaid, many with white aprons over the front. Boys are generally wearing dark button-up jackets with page-boy caps. There is a long wooden ramp up to the back door of the school. In the top-left corner of the photograph, the bricked-in barred window from the jail (lock-up) can be seen.
