Description

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Ottawa was originally built in 1828 at the corner of Wellington Street and Kent Street. Its origins begin with Ottawa's Scottish and Irish labourers of the Rideau Canal in the early 19th century who advocated for the establishment of the city's first Anglican church. The Neo-Gothic church stands out on the busy street of Wellington in which it is one of the only non-governmental buildings on that street.
