Description
The Campanile Church was built as a apart of complex that was commissioned by the Sisters of Congress of Notre Dame. The building is centered in the middle of the complex with the other twelve buildings enclosing it. It is characterized by its brick and concrete exterior, clean lines, and copper roof which represents modern architecture of the time. The Sisters of Congress of Notre Dame only occupied the building for a mere 8 years before it was turned over to the government due to financial issues. Beginning in the mid-1970s, it has operated as the Federal Study Centre where courses for the Canadian Emergency Management College were taught until 2012. The building has been vacant since.
