Aerial view of the Old Ottawa City Hall, now the John. G. Diefenbaker Building of Global Affairs Canada, a Department of the Government of Canada – from the southwest. The image is of the Ottawa River, LeBretonFlats and downtown Gatineau with the white metal grid tower of the old City hall in the far distance at top right. The Original City Hall Building is the eight floor building on Sussex Drive, designed by Rother, Bland and Trudeau Architects, and opened in 1958, when it won a Massey medal. The new addition was designed by Murray & Murray Architects, Ottawa and Moshe SafdieArchitects, USA – and opened in 1992.
