Aerial view of the Old Ottawa City Hall, now the John. G. Diefenbaker Building of Global Affairs Canada, a Department of the Government of Canada – from the north west. The image is of Green Island, the Rideau River and the Ottawa River environments. The Old City Hall building can be seen on Green Island in the upper-middle connected at the sides by the white Minto bridges. The new addition was designed by Murray & Murray Architects, Ottawa and Moshe SafdieArchitects, USA – and opened in 1992. Original City Hall Building is the eight floor building on Sussex Drive, designed by Rother, Bland and Trudeau Architects, and opened in 1958, when it won a Massey medal.
