Item Description

An aerial view of the Old Ottawa City Hall, now the John. G. Diefenbaker Building of Global Affairs Canada, a Department of the Government of Canada – from the South. The image is of the entire campus on Green Island in the Rideau River, as it flows into the Ottawa River at top. The new addition was designed by Murray & Murray Architects, Ottawa and Moshe SafdieArchitects, USA – and opened in 1992. The original City Hall Building is the eight floor building at the top at 111 Sussex Drive, Ottawa and was designed by Rother, Bland and Trudeau Architects, and opened in 1958, when it won a Massey medal.
